At The Gem Nerd™, we take pride in crafting custom jewellery built to last a lifetime. To ensure your pieces remain as brilliant as the day you received them, every custom creation is backed by our complimentary Lifetime Limited Warranty.
This warranty is valid for the lifetime of the product (for as long as The Gem Nerd™ remains in business) and is subject to the terms outlined below.
What is Covered (Complimentary)
We stand behind our craftsmanship. Our warranty strictly covers all manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
- Loose Stones: If a stone becomes loose but you have successfully retrieved it, we will reset it for you free of charge.
- Metal: Unless caused by low durability custom designs (which we will communicate to you before purchase), and in the event your jewellery breaks due to defects in the metal as a result of poor mixing of alloys, poor quality casting, or otherwise low quality workmanship, we will repair or replace your jewellery at no cost to you.
- Covered Shipping: If your repair falls under a manufacturing defect, return shipping to and from our studio is completely covered.
What is Not Covered
Because jewellery is worn daily, it is subject to the elements and personal accidents. Our warranty does not cover:
- Normal Wear and Tear: Scratches, tarnish, rhodium plating wear, wear down of prongs, or misshapen bands or prongs due to daily wear.
- Accidental Damage: Scratches, tarnish, rhodium plating wear, wear down of prongs, or misshapen bands or prongs due to daily wear, resulting from accidents, neglect, or improper care.
- Loss or Theft: This includes the loss of the entire piece, as well as the loss of center stones or accent stones.
Pro Tip: We highly recommend adding your jewellery to a homeowners, renters, or dedicated jewellery insurance policy (like Jewelers Mutual) to protect against loss, theft, or accidental damage.
Non-Warranty Repairs
If your jewellery is damaged outside the scope of our warranty (e.g., you accidentally dropped it or lost an accent stone), we are still here to help.
We will gladly repair your Gem Nerd piece at cost, with absolutely no markup. You will only pay the exact cost of the materials, labor, and shipping required to restore your piece.
How to Start a Warranty Claim or Repair
