At The Gem Nerd, we take pride in crafting custom jewellery built to last a lifetime. To ensure your pieces remain as brilliant as the day you received them, every piece is backed by our complimentary Lifetime Limited Warranty.
This warranty is valid for the lifetime of the product (for as long as The Gem Nerd remains in business) and is subject to the terms outlined below.
What is Covered (Complimentary)
We stand behind our craftsmanship. Our warranty strictly covers all manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
Loose Stones: If a stone becomes loose but you have successfully retrieved it, we will reset it for you free of charge.
Metals: In the event that a piece of jewellery becomes damaged and upon inspection we can confirm it is due to porosity in the metal or a defect caused by poor craftsmanship, we will repair or replace your jewellery free of charge.
Covered Shipping: If your repair falls under a manufacturing defect, return shipping to and from our studio is completely covered.
What is Not Covered
Because jewellery is worn daily, it is subject to the elements and personal accidents. Our warranty does not cover:
Normal Wear and Tear: Scratches, tarnish, rhodium plating wear, worn down prongs or bezels, or misshapen bands due to daily wear. This includes damages to stones, including chips and scratches.
Accidental Damage: Crushed, bent, or broken pieces resulting from accidents, neglect, or improper care. This also includes damage to stones.
Loss or Theft: This includes the loss of the entire piece, as well as the loss of center stones or accent stones.
Pro Tip: We highly recommend adding your custom jewellery to a homeowners, renters, or dedicated jewelry insurance policy (like Jewelers Mutual) to protect against loss, theft, or accidental damage.
Non-Warranty Repairs
If your jewellery is damaged outside the scope of our warranty (e.g., you accidentally dropped it or lost an accent stone), we are still here to help.
In the event we can repair your piece, we will gladly repair your Gem Nerd jewellery at cost, with absolutely no markup. You will only pay the exact cost of the materials and labor required to restore your piece, plus shipping.
If your jewellery or stone(s) need to be replaced, we will provide you with such a replacement at a heavily discounted price.
How to Start a Warranty Claim or Repair
If your piece needs some love, please contact us at michael@thegemnerd.com with your original order number, a brief description of the issue, and a few clear photos. We will evaluate the piece and guide you through the next steps.
